Top tip: The 2 minute connection call
So many leaders ‘don’t have the time’ to connect with their team. Over the year I have seen a high price for those leaders that don’t have their ear to the ground and make time tohear what’s going on with their team. Build in a 2 minute phone call once a day to one of your team, something like this: “ Hi, I’ve got a couple of minutes before my next meeting. How you are and what’s happening your side? Anything I can… help with/you want to discuss/support you… or some news from my side is…”. It keeps your team connected to you and in the loop, can flag you early on about imminent crises, build your brand as a leader whose door is truly open and keeps a great team moral going.
